Introductions

May 6th, 2019 - Entry 1

I'm certain I'll bore someone with this, but it's absolutely necessary for me to start this off. Hi sweethearts, my name is Kai Blackwood. I'm nineteen years old, still a fledgling in this stage called adulthood, yet too old to be called a teen either.

Well, I think I'm past that, actually. I mean, eighteen's the legal age in the United States. So to rephrase my earlier statement, I'm technically an adult, but I possess the same curiosity and mischievousness as a child. It sounds eerie, I know, but rest assure that I won't pull a vacant doll-like persona or a concrete mindset here. I will, however, have the same abundant excitement one would have when they were just little bundles of energy.

There will be days where I think being a package of energy is too much, so if I start sulking or pulling dry humor out of nowhere, bounce off my ideas and pull jokes too. We got to make this entertaining for the two of us after all. Or at least, as many as they come.

I have a certain fascination for mystery and psychological thrillers, preferably the latter. I think if you explore the world with your own experiments, it makes things quite interesting. That being said, don't for the life of you put your hand on the stove. I know it seems tempting and your curiosity needs to be sated, but if someone just turned it off, it's still hot. I was one of those kids who did it anyways.

Hey, I never said I listened to my own advice. I'm good at giving it though.

To detail what this entire blog will be about, well that is a good question. I don't know. No, I'm kidding. There are a wide range of topics I want to cover, but I'll stick to the ones I know best. That is, book recommendations, writing tips, and general observations I make. The latter is a hit or miss, you might like my internal thoughts or you won't. I don't mind any of the comments though, by all means express yourself as you may.

I didn't address this before, but I identify as a male and as for my orientation, I'll keep it without labels and up to your imagination. That's not to say I don't identify as something in real life. I just find it unnecessary to put it up as a first-base introduction.

To close this off, I'm going to end with a question. If one person answers, that's great.

Here it is: "What's your favorite type of shows to watch?"

I watch anime for motivation, when the going gets rough. You know...school. But more on that later. In terms of regular shows, American Horror Story is to die for. I love how creepy it is. It used to keep me up at night, but lately the shock factor has lost its touch.

If you really want to talk about a show with shock factor, Criminal Minds is where it's at. But the way they portray gruesome murders makes you think someone out there used it to their advantage. If you're ever bored and lack the inspiration to write, give this show a try, because you'll figure out the best methods to torture ahem develop your main characters.

Supernatural is a great one too, becoming more infamous among my friends. The whole family bond dynamic and blood runs thicker than you think gets all the fangirls wild. There's also the character development in there which is pretty sweet too. We love a well-rounded character.

I think the last show I'll leave off at is the Flash. It's a classic. If you've watched any of the superhero shows, I think this would rank higher than all of them. We've got a little bit of romance, action, adventure, sprinkle in some mystery and suspense here and there - enjoyable for any audience. Unlike Arrow, but hey that's a different story.

Good luck on finals to anyone who still has it. I certainly do, but you know what cures stress? Music. I heard caffeine does the job too, but it never has an effect on me, so that's out of the question.

To all the drugged up caffeinated students surviving the last days of school. Kudos to you.

And as always, imagine valiantly, sweethearts.
